June 2022 Employees of the Month
June 2022 Employees of the Month
It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to keep AC Transit buses on the road and running smoothly. Each month, the District honors the service of those drivers and mechanics who contribute directly to this effort by awarding “Employee of the Month” honors from our Supervision, Maintenance and Transportation divisions. Our candidates are nominated by supervisors at our Central Maintenance Facility and at each of AC Transit’s four bus divisions in Emeryville, Richmond, East Oakland and Hayward. Winners from each division and one from the Central Maintenance Facility are selected by the Superintendent of the division. Each winner receives a gift certificate to a local restaurant.
We are pleased to announce the “Employee of the Month” winners for June 2022.
SUPERVISION
Erica Seals
Transportation Supervisor
Erica Seals received the greatest compliment that a Supervisor can receive from an Operator. An All-Nighter Operator recently stated that operators feel safe when Supervisor Seals is available at night. There can be no greater compliment than that. Ms. Seals makes herself available for the operators on the road, and this work ethic shows-up in the work details and operator comments. Supervisor Seals, congratulations and thank you for your great work!
CENTRAL MAINTENANCE FACILITY
Shawn Stevenson
Journey Level Mechanic
Mr. Stevenson is recognized for his continuous growth in the transmission building dept. He has excelled in his training and consistently produces reliable transmissions. He pays careful attention to detail, taking notes and applying the principles given by his instructor. Shawn brings a good work ethic and friendly team attitude to the Unit Room.
EMERYVILLE DIVISION
William Collins
Bus Operator
Operator William Collins is a long-term employee with an excellent record and great customer service skills. He maintains a positive attitude and provides outstanding service with a smile.
Jesus Sandoval
Mechanic
Since D2 has faced challenges with a low workforce on Mid shift, we have needed some employees to work overtime. Management asked around to see who was willing to work, and the only person that decided to change his schedule was Jesus Sandoval. Jesus changed his plans for the day to assist with repairing two much-needed coaches to make the pullout by 4:00 PM. Jesus is a perfect example of a dedicated and hardworking employee. Much deserved, Jesus!
RICHMOND DIVISION
Sandra Santos
Bus Operator
Sandra Santos is a highly decorated veteran operator of over 15 years. She enjoys providing outstanding service for the public and fellow co-workers. Division 3 is grateful for her many years of service and team spirit. Congratulations on an honor well deserved, Operator Santos.

Andres Floriano
Service Employee
Andres is one of our top performers at Division 4 Fuel Island. He always keeps in mind the divisional goals and goes above and beyond the call of duty. Just last month, we were short-staffed, and Andres made a more considerable effort to assist his Team to have every bus that came off their run serviced and disinfected. Thank you, Andres.
HAYWARD DIVISION
Robin Lacey
Bus Operator
Robin Lacey has become a lead operator over the past year. She has stepped up by creating more challenging goals and exceeding division expectations. Ms. Lacey has become an example for other Division 6 employees to emulate. Congratulations, Operator Lacey.
Michael Leite
Facilities Mechanic
Michael has a way of helping employees or onsite contractors with any issues. Michael recently helped design and build new cubicles at the TEC, adding much-needed work areas. He tracked down an environmental clog that has been an issue for years that could have caused the division big problems. He continues to excel and accomplish his tasks, and we are lucky to have him on this Team.
