September 2024 Employees of the Month
It takes hard work and dedication to keep AC Transit running smoothly. Each month, the District commends the service of employees who contribute directly to this effort by awarding “Employee of the Month” honors from our Supervision, Maintenance and Transportation divisions. Our candidates are nominated by supervisors at our Central Maintenance Facility and at each of AC Transit’s four divisions in Emeryville, Richmond, East Oakland and Hayward. Honorees from the Central Maintenance Facility and each division are selected by the respective Superintendent. Awarded employees receive a gift certificate to a local restaurant.
We are pleased to announce the “Employee of the Month” for September 2024.
SUPERVISION/CENTRAL MAINTENANCE FACILITY
Victor R.
Transportation Supervisor
Victor is a great supervisor and an asset to the Operations Control Center (OCC). He has a great work ethic, which shows in his reports and interactions with the operators and public. Victor is a great team player who helps his fellow co-workers when needed no matter the size of the task.
Javier J.
Bus Stop Maintenance Worker
Javier always has a positive attitude along with a great working relationship with his coworkers and management. He is always available when asked to complete or assist with any task. Javier has been a great addition to the Bus Stop Maintenance Team.
EMERYVILLE DIVISION
Madjid O.
Bus Operator
Bus Operator Madjid is dependable, hard-working, maintains a neat appearance and treats his co-workers with respect and courtesy. His work ethic and focus are what helps make AC Transit a special place to work.
Wilbur B.
Service Employee
Wilbur has played a crucial role in our improvements to the Division 2 Fuel Island. He is always ready to assist the team when needed and willing to go above and beyond to accomplish the District’s goals. Recently, Wilbur has taken it upon himself to teach his coworkers safe and effective techniques for completing daily tasks.
RICHMOND DIVISION

Bus Operator
Bus Operator Micheal is known by his co-workers as a dedicated and hard worker. He is very reliable and doesn’t mind helping the dispatchers fill routes when needed. He is an inspiration and a positive role model.
David G.
Service Employee
David’s positive attitude and dedication genuinely stand out. Despite daily challenges and obstacles, David motivates his team to be successful. Recently, David assisted with transportation’s request for several non-revenue vehicle cleanings while still completing his regular duties. His actions are a testament to David’s incredible work ethic and leadership skills. Thank you.

We are proud to have Operator Marcus as part of the East Oakland Division Family. He is a professional bus operator with a charming demeanor and excellent customer service skills. His professionalism has led to several commendations from the community.

Senior Clerk
Benita is an extremely hard worker. Her role as senior office clerk may seem behind the scenes, but the impact is front and center. Benita consistently goes above and beyond the call duty, whether meeting the payroll deadline or ensuring events go as planned and everything in between. She assures the job will be done.

Mr. Stridelyon has an excellent work ethic and provides outstanding customer service to passengers and fellow co-workers. He maintains a positive attitude and often provides uplifting words of encouragement to staff members.

Facilities Mechanic
Sam can be counted on responding to facility requests promptly. He investigates issues and communicates to all parties involved throughout the process. With new work requests constantly coming in, the list continues to shrink. Sam always lends a helping hand to all staff. The District appreciates Sam’s determination to see work through.
